Director of Contract Foodservice

Job Summary

The Director of Contract Foodservice oversees a group of HandCut Foods school foodservice accounts. This person represents HandCut Foods' corporate goals and initiatives at the account level and provides oversight to HandCut employees located at the accounts. Supervision and measurement of training, compliance, and operations for HandCut teams within the district is a core function. Additionally, the Director of Contract Foodservice supports onsite teams’ successful management of budget goals. This person represents HandCut Foods with the client on issues of operational concern. The Director of Contract Foodservice reports to the Vice President of Operations.


Essential Duties and Areas of Responsibility

Personnel Management

  • Develop and regularly review staffing plan to support the goals of the foodservice program
  • Contribute to and implement professional development programming for the foodservice team to help them stay active and engaged
  • Ensure onsite managers are aware of HandCut Foods’ mission and metrics


Sanitation, Food Safety, and Employee Safety

  • Establish and implement policies for risk management
  • Routinely train kitchen and site staff on food safety and sanitation procedures, allergy protocols, and personal health measures to keep customers and employees safe
  • Audit food safety practices of onsite teams to ensure compliance with best practices and company standards

Client Satisfaction and Customer Experience

  • Set and uphold standards of hospitality across the operation
  • Act as the primary community liaison
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to create actionable plans
  • Identify areas of the customer experience to be improved


Financial Management

  • Prepare budget on a year-to-year basis
  • Work with the finance team to prepare P&L analysis to provide operations guidance to onsite operators
  • Prepare and manage reports and materials required for end of month billing in coordination with the onsite managers
  • Ensure onsite managers are aware of financial targets and performance


Brand Development

  • Collaborate with corporate office to develop brand strategies to support accounts
  • Leverage HandCut’s campus presence to increase awareness of offerings
  • Identify programming opportunities to establish recurring events that promote brand identity
